Niagara & Southern Ontario Casino Stays: Falls Mist to Lakeside Quiet

Few corners of Canada pair spectacle and a good night out as neatly as the Niagara region. The Falls throw up their famous mist just minutes from two big casinos, while the towns further west and north keep a calmer, more local pace.

Few corners of Canada pair spectacle and a good night out as neatly as the Niagara region. The Falls throw up their famous mist just minutes from two big casinos, while the towns further west and north keep a calmer, more local pace.

This guide covers six land-based casinos across Niagara and Southern Ontario. For each we note the style of the gaming floor, the sort of stay available nearby, where you can eat and what the room feels like once you walk in.

It is written to help you choose a venue that fits your trip, whether that is a Falls-view weekend, a stop on the road to Sarnia or a quiet evening out in cottage country.

Along the way you'll find our pick of the best casinos in the Niagara region, Ontario, with a rundown of the casino games at each — from blackjack and roulette to baccarat and slots. And to be clear, this is a guide to real, land-based venues you can visit in person: it is not an online casino.

Planning

Planning a Niagara and Southern Ontario casino trip

Niagara Falls is the obvious base. Its two casinos sit close together, and hotels, restaurants and the Falls themselves are all within walking distance or a short ride, so you can leave the car parked for a night or two.

The other four venues are spread across the region, so they suit a road trip. Brantford and Campbellville lie along the main routes west of Toronto, Scugog sits to the north-east, and Point Edward is a long but easy drive to the Michigan border.

Summer weekends and holiday long weekends fill Niagara hotels quickly and push rates up. Midweek stays and shoulder seasons are usually calmer and better value, so book early if you are set on a peak date.

Questions

Niagara and Southern Ontario casino FAQs

How old do I need to be to gamble in Ontario?

The minimum gambling age in Ontario is 19, and staff may ask to check your ID at the door or on the floor. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

Does it cost anything to get in?

No. Entry to these casinos is free with valid photo ID, and you do not need to join anything before you walk in.

Can I visit more than one casino on the same trip?

Yes. The two Niagara Falls venues are close together, and the others are on drivable routes, so a two- or three-stop itinerary over a weekend works well.

Is this an online casino?

No. Mist & Marque is an independent guide to real, land-based casino hotels and the best casino venues you can visit in person across the Niagara region, Ontario. It is not an online casino, and not a place to play casino games for real money on the web — we simply help you decide where to go.
